The South Indian film industry is making waves nationwide with a string of pan-Indian releases. Two recent additions to this trend are ‘HIT: The Third Case’ starring Nani and ‘Retro’ starring Surya. Both films have now been in theaters for five days, and the box office numbers are in.
Box Office Showdown: HIT 3 vs Retro
On its fifth day, ‘HIT: The Third Case’ raked in 4.15 crore rupees, bringing its total collection to 30.56 crore rupees. While the film opened with a strong 21 crore rupees, its earnings have been declining steadily.
In contrast, ‘Retro’ collected 3.35 crore rupees on its fifth day, with a total box office haul of 46.50 crore rupees. The film, which stars Pooja Hegde alongside Surya, has been struggling to maintain its initial momentum.
The Competition Heats Up
Both ‘HIT: The Third Case’ and ‘Retro’ are facing stiff competition from Bollywood releases ‘Bhootni’ and ‘Red 2.’ While ‘Bhootni,’ starring Sanjay Dutt, hasn’t been doing particularly well, ‘Red 2,’ starring Ajay Devgn, has been performing reasonably.
The battle at the box office is intense, with ‘Red 2’ emerging as a strong competitor to the two South Indian films. Whether ‘HIT: The Third Case’ and ‘Retro’ can withstand the competition remains to be seen.
