Hispanos Junior Successfully Defends European Title Under Cikusa Brothers’ Leadership

Spanish Junior Men’s Team Set to Defend European Under-20 Championship Title

The Spanish junior men’s team is gearing up to defend its European Under-20 Championship title, which will take place from July 10 to 21 in Slovenia. The team, led by coach Javier Fernandez, is determined to maintain its hegemony in the tournament.

The team will face a tough group C, which includes France, Switzerland, and the Faroe Islands. The Spanish team knows its opponents well, having played against them in previous tournaments. In fact, they recently defeated France in the Airport Trophy, and they will look to repeat the feat in their opening match on July 10.

"We have completed the last training sessions to get ready for the match against France. Coincidentally, we also played against them in the last European Youth Championship. We have many grudges against them. It is an exciting challenge ahead, because we know how difficult the tournament is, and I hope that we continue to have that hunger that has characterized us in recent years and has allowed us to rise to the top," said coach Javier Fernandez.

The team’s roster includes several talented players, including Alvaro Perez, Pau Panitti, Ferran Castillo, Javier MiƱambres, Petar Cikusa, Djordje Cikusa, Oscar Grau, Pablo Herrero, Eduardo Escobedo, Xavi Gonzalez, Alberto Delgado, Ian Barrufet, Pablo Guijarro, Victor Romero, Josu Arzoz, and Jokin Aja Garate.

The competition calendar for the preliminary phase is as follows:

  • Wednesday, July 10 (4:40 p.m.): Spain – France
  • Thursday, July 11 (12:00 p.m.): Switzerland – Spain
  • Friday, July 12 (4:40 p.m.): Spain – Faroe Islands
