New Delhi: Indian police have arrested extremist Hindu leader Kali Charan Maharaj for making provocative speeches against Muslims and Mahatma Gandhi.
According to a report of a foreign news agency, Raipur police from the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh have arrested hardline Hindu leader Kali Charan Maharaj where he had gone into hiding in Madhya Pradesh for several days.
Police have arrested Kali Charan Maharaj for making hate speech against Muslims and cursing Mahatma Gandhi.
The extremist Hindu leader paid homage to Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi during a function in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and said that Gandhi had destroyed India.
On the other hand, Maharaj also used his poisonous language against Islam and Muslims and said that Islam wants to occupy all nations by using its ideology.
During his provocative speeches, he urged Hindus to elect hardline Hindu leaders in the elections to save Hindu ideology.
Congress leaders present at the event had filed a case against Kali Charan, after which he went into hiding for fear of arrest.

Police have also arrested Kali Charan Maharaj and imposed rebellion charges against him.
