Actress Hina Khan is speaking out about a recent sexual assault and murder case in Srinagar’s Nishat. She shared her thoughts on Instagram, calling for an end to blaming alcohol for such crimes. Hina Khan emphasized the difference between sexual harassment and rape. She urged people to stop justifying rape and sexual harassment based on factors like alcohol, religion, or clothing.
Hina Khan’s Reaction to the Nishat Sexual Assault Case
Hina Khan took to her Instagram to share a detailed note on the issue. She wrote, “Can someone teach these fools the difference between sexual harassment and rape? Rape is rape. Murder is murder. Sexual harassment may have different details, but it’s a precursor to rape. It just means the perpetrator couldn’t, not that they didn’t.” She added that rapists blame everyone but themselves and urged people not to behave like the perpetrators.
The actress also stressed that rapists exist everywhere, across all communities and religions. “Alcohol leads to many things, but it doesn’t turn a good man into a rapist! Stop blaming alcohol. Good men can handle alcohol just like they handle physical strength better than women,” she said.
Condemning the Pahalgam Terror Attack
Hina Khan also addressed the recent Pahalgam terror attack in her Instagram story. She appealed to the people of Kashmir, especially Muslims, to allow other communities to mourn. “We’re almost at war. Can we stop responding to these trolls? And let other communities mourn? Can we just live together for God’s sake? Let’s take the first step. Let’s be human first,” she wrote. She requested people to refrain from reacting to trolls and to maintain peace.
Hina Khan, who is originally from Kashmir, has previously spoken out against terrorist attacks. Currently, she is battling breast cancer and has been open about her treatment and struggles. Despite her health challenges, she continues to work and raise awareness on various social issues.
