A young Russian mountaineer, a former soldier, managed to climb a summit of the Himalayas of more than 8,000 meters, just with the strength of his arms.
All smiles, a man has just achieved a unique feat. In the heart of the Himalayas, the Manaslu culminates at an altitude of over 8,000 meters. Roustam Nabiev climbed it with the strength of his arms. This 29-year-old Russian has both legs amputated. A team of several sherpas assisted him for this ascent, and helped him to cross the most delicate passages.
“The body is exhausted, says the Russian mountaineer. I hiked about 30 kilometers on the hands, from the start of base camp to the top and back. Our final assault lasted five days. “ Roustam Nabiev lost his legs when a military barracks exploded six years ago. Since then, he has been telling about the sporting challenges he takes up on social networks. Another feat was achieved in this territory: a visually impaired Canadian also reached the summit of Manaslu.
