High alert in Asian country, ban on public exit

Bangkok: The Thai government has issued an alert in view of several reported cases of eye irritation and inhalation.

According to foreign media reports, the increasing air pollution in Thailand’s capital Bangkok and its surroundings has made people’s lives miserable.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in its report that the air index in Bangkok reached 2.5, 70.5, which is 14 times worse than normal.

Meanwhile, Swiss air quality tracking platform IQ Air has also ranked Bangkok’s air quality as the sixth worst in the world.

Due to air pollution, the authorities have appealed to people to stay indoors and not go out unnecessarily.

Officials were of the view that this action was taken due to reports of eye irritation and breathing problems.
