Hideo Kojima’s OD Horror Game Promises Polarizing, Unconventional Experience

Hideo Kojima’s next big game, “OD,” is a horror title from Kojima Productions. We don’t know much about it yet. But Kojima himself recently gave some hints. He shared that “OD” will be something truly new. It might not be for everyone.

Kojima talked about the game in a recent chat with Ssense magazine. He called it “something completely different.” He believes people will either “love it, or they might hate it.” This is a bold statement, even for Kojima. He’s known for making unique games.

It sounds like “OD” will push boundaries, just like his past projects. Kojima plans to watch how people react when the game comes out. He will check tweets on Twitter (now X) and watch videos on YouTube. He’ll also read reviews everywhere. But he said this early feedback won’t matter much to him. Kojima feels sure that the “true judgment” of his work will come later. He thinks it will take 10 or 20 years for people to really understand it.

So, it’s exciting to wonder what new ideas or fresh gameplay “OD” will offer players. This project is a partnership between Kojima Productions and Xbox. We already know some of the actors involved. Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier are all part of the cast. Plus, famous director Jordan Peele, known for movies like “Get Out” and “Nope,” is also helping with the game.
