Hidemasa Morita will not join the Japanese national team for the upcoming FIFA break in September. This news comes as a tough blow for the midfielder, who is currently battling muscle issues. It means he will miss out on representing his country on the international stage.
The troubles for Morita started during a recent match against Nacional. He felt discomfort and had to leave the game early in the first half. This injury has kept him off the field and will likely sideline him for Sporting CP’s important game against FC Porto this coming Saturday.
Japan’s coach, Hajime Moriyasu, announced his squad this Thursday. Morita, a vital player for both his club and nation, was notably absent from the list. The 30-year-old international now faces a period of recovery instead of playing.
This absence means Morita will miss two friendly matches scheduled for Japan. His teammates will face Mexico on September 7th. A few days later, on September 10th, they will play against the United States.
