At the end of last year, Hey +, one of the new manufacturers of the Xiaomi ecosystem, launched a smart watch to consider for 2022. It is called Heyplus Watch, I had the opportunity to test it in the last days, and in this article I tell you my experience with this wearable.
Like the Haylou RS4 and RT2 we tested a few days ago, this Heyplus watch is one more product that came straight from the Youpin Laboratory. And after several tests, it turns out to be a very polished product.
Unboxing and first impressions
This is a product that comes to us with an unboxing experience wanting to compete with the ‘big boys’. The box is rectangular and bears the brand’s “Born to Brave” slogan. Inside we find only the clock and the magnetic charger with USB-A output.
The appearance of the product conquers from the first moment. We have a rectangular watch with rounded corners, which is quite light and thin. In it, three materials predominate: aluminum in the case, glass in the screen and silicone in the strap.

Simplicity and customization are queens
From the first contact with the Heyplus Watch, there is a feeling of simplicity but also great customization. Its 1.78 ”AMOLED screen is a real treat for the eyes, and is more than enough size for all activities.
It is a screen with 16.7 million colors, and with great detail that you do not find in all smartwatches in this price range. It allows you to have the screen always on, or customize it so that it only happens during the period of greatest use.
In this way, you will be able to see the time without turning on the screen, since only the essential information of time and date will appear. And since this one has an AMOLED panel, it doesn’t affect its autonomy too negatively.
Another important detail is the customization in the main menu. This is because users can choose a “list” view with icons and text, or a “grid” view with just the icons.
Never ending autonomy
If you want a smart watch with good autonomy, this is a product to consider. The brand promises 21 days of autonomy, and the figures do not fall short if you are not a very intensive user.
With the always-on display function activated and with some training, you can expect autonomy in two weeks. Which is great if you don’t always want to carry the charger behind you.
Speaking of a charger, this one is magnetic and has a USB-A output. On average, it takes about two hours to fully charge if you let the battery drain. Something that is acceptable in this price range.
Good for your workouts
With what the brand calls HeyMotion AI, Heyplus Watch promises to understand your training process more precisely. And this is true for the more than 100 training modes available.
These range from walking, running, cycling, rowing or the elliptical that we find directly on the smartwatch. However, it is good to note that you can only have 10 sports selected to be on the watch.
The selection of your 10 favorite sports can be done through the Heyplus app available for Android and iOS. There you will find options such as fishing, rugby, skating, horseback riding, parkour, judo, fishing, baseball or snowboarding.
It is important to mention that Heyplus Watch is IP68 certified, which protects it against water and dust. This means that you won’t have a problem with sweat, rain, or hand washing. But since we do not find swimming among the available workouts, it is worth thinking about it.
Your best ally for health
Heyplus Watch comes with the ability to monitor your heart rate continuously, which seems to perform consistently with competitors in this price range without much margin for error.
It is also possible to manually measure blood oxygen monitoring, with a measurement range between 70 and 100%. But, as always, we should not view this as a medical device, but only as a warning barometer.
Heyplus Watch also allows you to monitor your sleep, with deep or light sleep data right on the bracelet itself. It should be noted that it also allows you to measure steps, calories burned, minutes of activity and breathing exercises.
It also provides you with various data that you can activate. It is possible to be notified of inactivity, thus being able to be motivated to bodily action. You can also activate the reminder to drink water and receive a notification every time you reach a certain goal.
A worthy personal assistant
In the Heyplus Watch itself, you can carry out other activities that are very important to many users. We are talking about the already essential control of the music that is being played on the smartphone, or the camera when taking a photo.
It has a timer, stopwatch and the possibility of creating alarms on the bracelet itself. There you can also check the current weather, the forecast for the next few days and data such as wind speed, humidity and the ultraviolet index. A nice plus is the presence of a flashlight among the quick settings for any nighttime emergency.
The Heyplus app
To accompany your Heyplus watch we have the Heyplus application, available for Android and iOS in Portuguese. This is subdivided into four menus: Start, Training, Device and Profile.
After the initial pairing, in the “Start” menu we find all the important data of steps, distance, sleep, heart rate or SpO2. Clickable to access more details.
In the “Training” menu you have access to the most recent training sessions. In the “Device” menu you access data such as changing screens, managing notifications, reminders or usage habits. In the “Profile” menu you can set daily goals for steps, activity time or calories burned.
There are no perfect smartwatches
This is a pretty capable smartwatch for the price. But as with any product, it is not perfect. And with so many qualities and sports supported, the biggest flaw that can be pointed out is the lack of built-in GPS.
Another important detail is that it only allows you to read notifications and also be notified of calls. Therefore, it is not possible to answer messages or answer / make calls on the watch itself.

Heyplus Watch stands out strongly for its AMOLED screen, very visible both inside and out. And even with the always-on display function, you don’t notice a sharp drop in battery life, which is of great quality.
Unlike other cheap competitors, there is a reliable interaction with the application and the weather is updated frequently. The fluidity is also noticeable, and the ability to choose between a list or grid menu is something I wanted to see in any product of this genre.
Another very important detail is that, despite having a 1.78 ”screen, you hardly feel that you have it turned on. It is very lightweight and ergonomic, making it ideal for use on small wrists.
