The police change their wardrobe. From the first quarter of 2022, they will wear a new uniform that is more modern and more suited to their daily actions in the field.
This is what Emmanuel Macron announced in his conclusions of the Beauvau of security presented in Roubaix (North) on Tuesday.
Available in two versions, one short-sleeved, the other long-sleeved, the new polo shirts presented are navy blue, a color considered less messy than ice blue, the color of current uniforms. The other main change lies in the disappearance of the cap criticized by the police, in favor of a more practical cap, especially during foot chases.

These new uniforms were made in France and developed after a call to fashion and design schools.

“It is about modernizing certain elements of police uniforms, to better represent a police force at the service of the population, to contribute to the pride of the exercise of the profession and to meet the daily needs of the police officers in terms of comfort, ease. maintenance and compatibility with the presence on public roads ”, explained the Ministry of the Interior at Europe 1.
The police unions had expressed their wish to see their outfits evolve for several months already. The current ones were designed by the Balenciaga house in 2003.
