Hérault: a couple threatened by a handgun for a refused “check”

This Wednesday, August 25, a couple was put in play by an alcoholic individual, at the entrance of a supermarket in the small village of Laroque, in Hérault.

At around 5:30 p.m., a drunken man wanted to “check” a lady he did not know. Surprised, the latter refused to answer the call of the individual.

As the woman is joined by her husband, the assailant then pulls out a handgun and targets them both. The couple are fortunately saved by the vigilance of one of the store’s security guards who managed to disarm the individual and knock him down.

Arrested by the gendarmerie, the man was placed in the sobering up room. According to Free noon, it turns out that the weapon used was an alarm pistol which fires blank, therefore harmless.

At the end of his police custody, he was released and will be tried next October.
