The lawyer Olivia Rubio, part of the defense of Parra’s youngest daughter, the product of her relationship with actress Ginny Hoffman, reported through a statement that she is celebrating the sentence that represents “advance in the search for justice for Alexa and for all the boys and girls who have suffered sexual violence in their family spaces”.
Rubio also explained that having been acquitted of sexual abuse and sentenced for and convicted of corruption of minors does not make Parra innocent but that the charge only changes the type of sanction, but in this case the change was worse.
“The crime he committed was committed to corruption of minors, which is more serious than sexual abuse. So let’s say that sexual abuse was canceled and that is why they are saying that he was acquitted and that he is innocent. It is not like that, in fact he is in a worse crime than the one for which he is being acquitted,” Rubio said.
On June 15, 2021, Parra was arrested while washing his vehicle, his attorney stated at the time. Those two years in prison will be subtracted from the sentence.
