The government presented yesterday to the Council of Ministers its bill extending the possible use of the health pass until July 31, 2022, i.e. 10 additional months. This arouses strong criticism from the opposition, which challenges the decision to step over the presidential election.
Some Lille professionals do not hide their annoyance. “I think it’s a bit too long for us, until November 15th or even the 1ster January would have been good. Until then it remains a constraint anyway, it is a waste of time and activity ”.
On the terrace, this extension arouses the incomprehension of many customers. “We drink a coffee, we have to present the health pass, then we can move freely in the establishment without the mask while knowing that I can be a carrier of the virus, I find that aberrant” testifies one of them.
In Gironde, near Bordeaux, we also find the same weariness. “It is obvious to no one, it is a constraint for everyone and I think that living under constraint is enough, we have already experienced several confinements” for one; “I think we’ve had enough, given the population that is vaccinated, is it really necessary? I don’t think so ”for another.
For some professionals, it is also the guarantee of being able to maintain an activity, in the event of an epidemic resumption. “As long as it allows me to work, I don’t see where the bad idea is, for me there is no embarrassment” explains one of them.
The government text also tightens the penalties for fraud in the health pass, they can go up to five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.
