From Monday, August 9, the health pass is mandatory to access bars and restaurants. The managers of the establishments themselves are in charge of monitoring their customers. And in general the day has gone well.
After having occupied the political debates of the past week, the sanitary pass burst into restaurants on Monday. Whether at the entrance of the room or at the tables on the terrace, checking the pass has become a sine qua non condition for accessing French establishments.
In Lille, a restaurateur plays the appeasement card. There was no collision from their side. There is also no conflict in Marseille, although the interviewed restaurateur evokes the misunderstanding of the clients of the terraces. In the Paris region, an establishment tries to make it an object of promotion.
For most customers, the health pass had already become commonplace. “There really is no downside,” one of them testifies.
The health pass, whose extension came into effect on Monday for people over 18 years of age, is payable in a very high number of public places, “until November 15, 2021 inclusive” according to the law.
