Hasselblad X2D II Leaks with 100MP Medium Format and AI Focus

The world of medium format cameras has been abuzz with exciting news lately, and this time, it’s Hasselblad’s turn to take the spotlight. A leaked image of the company’s upcoming camera, the X2D II, has surfaced, and it’s expected to make its official debut in June this year.

For those familiar with Hasselblad’s X2D series, the previous model, the X2D 100C, boasts an impressive 100-megapixel medium format sensor, 5-axis image stabilization, and a whopping 7 stops of dynamic range. The camera also features a built-in 1TB SSD, making it possible to shoot without the need for external memory cards. We’ve had the chance to review the X2D 100C in the past, and if you’re interested in learning more, you can check out our in-depth review.

Although the specifications of the X2D II have not been officially released, the leaked image gives us a glimpse of the camera’s body, which features the model name and the “HANDMADE IN SWEDEN” inscription. Based on this, it’s possible that the new model may focus on improving its autofocus system to compete with other brands in the market. Alternatively, Hasselblad might be planning to upgrade other aspects of the camera’s body or even reintroduce video mode, which was absent in the previous model.

As we eagerly await more information about the Hasselblad X2D II, one thing is certain – this new release is generating a lot of excitement among photography enthusiasts. We’ll be keeping a close eye on any updates and will bring you the latest news as it becomes available.
