Viral images on social media show that these are the same dogs that played a key role in bringing US forces to the enemy in various operations. But the question is, where are these dogs now?

The Department of Defense says there is no truth in the reports and tweets, which say the United States has left its “K9 Soldiers” helpless in Afghanistan. A Pentagon spokesman said the dogs in the photos were not from US forces.
The spokesman also said that the dogs in the photos were those collected by a local Kabul-based organization that works for helpless animals.
What are America’s “K9 soldiers”?
Major breeds of dogs, including the German Shepherd, Bloodhound, Labrador and Doberman, serve as a front line in the US military, police and other law enforcement agencies.
These dogs are trained and used for many important responsibilities, including drug detection, bombing, pursuit of suspects, identification of evidence, and the search for missing persons. They are part of 9 units of dogs. The name is derived from the French word cayenne, which means dog. The dogs were also the subject of a popular American TV series in the 1980s.
