The rising tensions between India and Pakistan have sparked a heated exchange between Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hussain. The controversy began when Harshvardhan refused to be part of the film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’, citing his discomfort with Mawra’s anti-India remarks.
Mawra Takes a Personal Dig
Mawra hit back, labeling Harshvardhan’s decision a publicity stunt. Harshvardhan responded on Instagram, saying Mawra was making personal attacks despite him not mentioning her by name.
Harshvardhan Fights Back
He wrote: “It feels like a personal attack. Thankfully, I can ignore such attempts, but I won’t tolerate any disrespect towards my country. An Indian farmer removes weeds from his crop; it’s called weeding out. He doesn’t need a PR team for that; it’s just common sense.”
Standing by His Words
Harshvardhan added: “I decided not to work on ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’. I have the right to refuse working with people who call my country’s actions ‘cowardly.’ Their comments are filled with hate and personal jabs. I’ve never mentioned them by name or attacked their dignity as a woman. I’ll keep maintaining that standard.”
