Actor Harshvardhan Rane has addressed recent comparisons to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Rane is currently generating buzz for his film ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat,’ which is performing well at the box office.
A news portal recently drew parallels between Rane and Khan, a comparison the actor found unsettling. He took to his Instagram stories to express his discomfort.
Rane humbly requested that his name not be associated with Khan’s. “He did it twice in a year with his God-level stardom. My following him twice in a year caused this,” Rane wrote. “Please I request you not to write my name with his name in any article, he is God and I am his humble priest.”
The comparison stemmed from Rane having two films released in theaters within a single year post-COVID-19. This achievement was noted as mirroring Shah Rukh Khan’s record in 2023.
Khan had multiple releases that year, including the blockbusters ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan.’ He also released ‘Dunki’ in 2023.
Rane’s film ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat,’ which features him as an obsessive lover, premiered on October 21. The movie has already recovered its production budget. It has earned approximately $6.13 million (50.86 crore rupees) within its first nine days.
Additionally, Rane’s re-released film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ has contributed to his box office success. It collected around $4.28 million (35.55 crore rupees).
Collectively, Rane’s two recent films have grossed over $10.24 million (85 crore rupees). Sonam Bajwa stars alongside Harshvardhan Rane in ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.’
