England’s star batsman Harry Brook was first seen playing in the IPL contested in 2023. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the mini auction for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore. Brook scored a century in the tournament, but failed badly in the rest of the matches. Even after a century, only 190 runs came off his bat in the entire tournament. Now Brook has broken the silence regarding IPL.
The first IPL was very bad for the English batsman who played as T20 in Test. Although he got a good price at the auction, he missed with the bat. Brook was asked if Ashes is the most physically and mentally exhausting experience he’s ever had. To this, he replied that Ashes is probably the second most physically and mentally exhausting experience. He put IPL first. Brook said: “The IPL is the most physically and mentally difficult I have ever faced.”
The English batsman batted in 11 innings of 11 matches in the tournament. In this, he came out once on a golden duck and twice on a duck. Other than this, he couldn’t even touch double figure in three innings. In the remaining five innings, he scored an unbeaten century and 13, 13, 18 and 27*. In this way, Brook scored 190 runs in 11 innings at an average of just 21.11 and a strike rate of 123.38.
