Haris Rauf Suffers Chest Sprain Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025

Haris Rauf Injury: Pakistan in tension before CT 2025, will the bowler be discharged due to injury?

The countdown to! the Champions Trophy 2025 has begun, with only a few days left before the tournament commences. Pakistan, the host country, is eagerly awaiting the event, but a significant setback has occurred prior to the tournament. The Pakistan cricket team is currently participating in a Tri-Nation ODI series at home, and during this series, one of their key bowlers has suffered an injury. The injured bowler is none other than fast bowler Haris Rauf.

Haris Rauf was injured during the first match of the Tri-Nation ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand on 8 February. The incident occurred in the 37th over of New Zealand’s innings, when Haris Rauf left the field without waiting for the physio to attend to him. As a result, all-rounder Salman Aga had to complete the over. Prior to his departure, Haris Rauf had bowled 6.2 overs, taking one wicket for 23 runs.

Injury Update

Following the incident, there were concerns about Haris Rauf’s ability to participate in the tri-series and the Champions Trophy. However, a recent update from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided more information about the extent of the injury. According to the PCB, Haris Rauf suffered a lower chest sprain during the game against New Zealand and will be rested for Pakistan’s match against South Africa in the Tri-Nation ODI series.

The PCB stated that after conducting an MRI and X-ray scan, it was confirmed that Haris Rauf had suffered a chest sprain during the match. Fortunately, the injury is not serious, and it is expected that Haris Rauf will be fully recovered in time for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to begin in Karachi on 19 February. As a precautionary measure, the PCB Medical Board has decided to rest the Pakistani fast bowler. The focus now shifts to ensuring that Haris Rauf is fully fit and ready to participate in the upcoming tournament.
