Hardik decided not to play in the Ranji Trophy, which started on 17 February, to focus on his return to India’s limited overs team. When Sharma was asked why Hardik doesn’t play in the Ranji Trophy, he said: “If someone doesn’t want to play, the selection committee doesn’t interfere in state affairs.”

“You can ask Hardik why he’s not playing in the Ranji Trophy. We’re looking at the players that are playing in Ranji and they’re doing well.” his physical condition in bowling is not clearly known, his name will not be considered.

The selection committee chairman said: “Hardik was definitely an important part of the Indian team. But after getting injured, all we will say is if he is 100 per cent fit, ready to play and if he bowls and gets fit for the match, then we will consider your name immediately.
