Hardik Pandya will not play in Ranji Trophy 2022, Baroda announce team

The multi-talented Hardik Pandya will miss out on the Ranji Trophy from February 10 to focus on his return to the limited India squad. Kedar Deodhar has been named captain of the Baroda team, while Vishnu Solanki will serve as vice-captain. The Baroda Cricket Association has announced a 20-man squad for the first stage of the tournament, which does not feature Hardik’s name.

Hardik is out of last year’s T20 World Cup Indian squad due to a back injury and later ‘rehab’. He was heavily criticized for not bowling at the T20 World Cup. He has not played red ball cricket since December 2018.

He is expected to return to competitive cricket through the IPL. He is the captain of the Ahmedabad team. In an interview with PTI last week, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that he expects Hardik to play the Ranji Trophy.

We tell you that Hardik Pandya played the last international match against Namibia in November 2021. He got injured after that and was constantly out of the squad. But now, after being fully fit, he will soon be back on the field.
