When Conrad Harder packed his bags and left Sporting, it happened fast. He spent only one full season with the Lisbon club. Then the young Danish forward was off to RB Leipzig in the latest transfer window.
Harder recently spoke to ‘Tipsbladet’ magazine. He didn’t want to say too much about leaving Sporting. But he hinted at things behind the scenes. He suggested the end of his time in Alvalade could have been different. “Honestly, I prefer not to go into many details,” he said. “But sometimes things happen in clubs that you don’t see from the outside.” He quickly added, “I can’t go into more detail about that.”
Now, a new chapter opens for the 20-year-old. Leipzig paid a hefty sum for him, €24 million upfront. Another €6 million could follow based on his performance. Harder hopes to make a big impact in Leipzig and the Bundesliga. He says this move has always been his dream. “The German league, the club, and the style of play fit me perfectly,” Harder explained. “It’s a big dream to come to Leipzig and the Bundesliga. I am very proud of this.”

He always pictured himself playing in Germany’s top league. Leipzig’s football style is exactly what he loves. “The club plays a very direct game, and I really like that,” he stated. “I really wanted to come here.”
