Hancko Joins Atlético Madrid After Al Nassr Transfer Collapse

Dávid Hancko

Dávid Hancko probably didn’t have much time to feel down. Just when it looked like a dream transfer had crashed, his future quickly sorted itself out. The 27-year-old Slovakian central defender is now set to play for Atlético Madrid. The Spanish club announced they reached an agreement with Feyenoord for his signing. In the same official statement, Atlético Madrid confirmed that Hancko will sign his contract after completing the usual medical examinations.

Hancko’s situation is now fully resolved, bringing an end to a dramatic few days. His name had recently been all over the news. This came after the club managed by Jorge Jesus and featuring Cristiano Ronaldo suddenly backed out of their deal. According to Dutch ESPN, Feyenoord and the player had already signed and sent all the necessary documents to make the transfer official. However, Al Nassr never took the next step. They simply stopped replying to the Dutch club’s messages. This made the entire operation fall apart. It all happened just days after Hancko himself had said goodbye to his teammates in Rotterdam.

Now, Hancko will continue his career in Spain, joining Atlético Madrid. The Slovakian center-back holds a market value above 30 million euros. Last season, he had a strong performance, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 47 games. From being left in limbo to securing a spot with a major Spanish club, Hancko’s journey has taken an exciting turn.
