The upcoming season is generating significant interest, and one of the main focuses is on Lewis Hamilton’s debut with Ferrari. After leaving the team where he became the most successful driver in F1 history, with 6 world championships, 84 wins, 78 poles, and 153 podiums, Hamilton has joined the iconic Italian team. Despite suffering an accident during tests in Barcelona, Hamilton remains highly motivated, stating on his Instagram account, “The first race cannot arrive soon enough.”
Hamilton appears to be drawing inspiration from another multi-champion, Sebastian Vettel, with whom he has a good relationship. Vettel, a four-time world champion, is someone Hamilton admires, saying, “SEB is the best world champion I know because he is much more than a pilot. He is a person with true passion, he is empathic and cares about people.” The similarities between Hamilton and Vettel are noticeable, as both have joined Ferrari with the aim of achieving great success, albeit at different stages in their careers. Hamilton, now 40 years old, is joining Ferrari at an older age than Vettel did, but both drivers have shared a teammate in Charles Leclerc.
Another point of interest is that Hamilton will be working with the same career engineer, Ricciardo Adami, who previously worked with Vettel. This revelation was recently confirmed by the Ferrari team.
Hamilton has also been observed taking notes, a method Vettel was known for during his time at Ferrari. Vettel emphasized the importance of taking notes by hand, saying, “When you write with a pen, it’s as if you wrote it in your head, you remember it. If you do it digitally, you can lose, because for that I am not very tidy. But if I write it, I keep it. I’m not going to throw the notebooks in the trash. Moreover, I still have notebooks of the year 2007 and later years. They no longer serve, but they are still there. They are all stacked on a bookshelf.” Hamilton, known for being a perfectionist, seems to be following in Vettel’s footsteps in this aspect, preferring to take notes by hand to help him remember important details.
