The jury of the fifth edition of the ROS Film Festival has chosen a Spanish short film as the winner, Hamelin 77. This is the first short film to explore the technology. Prompts and its importance in the new communication between man and machine
The jury highlighted the relevance of the topic discussed, as well as the different tools used for its development and the quality of the interpretation. “Every prompt is important,” warn its creators.
The second prize went to the short film of British nationality Doll+: Body Transmigration. Through the surreal spectacle of plastic dolls spinning in the sky to the rhythm of electronic music, the film reflects capitalism, virtual existence and the nature of the human body.
The third prize was awarded Too deep insidea disturbing short film in line with the suggestions of Black mirrorwhich deals with the use of artificial intelligence to achieve immortality for loved ones.
We highlight the mention of an anti-war short film created by an Iranian director. sprayer, and the mention of a short film made entirely with artificial intelligence, Ambient Piano No. 1.
The jury’s vote was unanimous in all categories.

First prize awarded with 1,200 €:
Hamelin 77. Spanish nationality, directed by Javier Ideami
Hamelin 77 is a fictional short film that deals with the relationship and communication between humans and artificial intelligence systems. To this end, it addresses the topic of prompt engineering, the art and science of controlling these systems using prompts (voice is the most common prompt).
The work also uses generative AI techniques in its production, including: – NeRF: reconstruction and navigation of 3D spaces – Text-to-image generation – Fine-tuning of generative AI models – Videos created by interpolation in latent spaces – Generation of voice and text – visual effects in the post-synopsis
Summary: Lara, a school teacher, is interviewed at Nawu Corporation for the Prompt Engineer position, which involves using voice to control artificial intelligence systems. A catastrophic power outage during the interview will trigger an unexpected discovery that reveals the delicate balance between humans and artificial intelligence.
Second prizeendowed with 500 € for Doll+: Body Transmigration, From Great Britain. Screenplay and direction: Ran Zhou.
Summary: Plastic dolls dance in the sky to the rhythm of a pop song. In a posthuman world, the perfect body is made from yellow-orange plastic in a factory in China. Without gender and without biological connection, this being exists in a virtual realm where ideas of illness, death and beauty become completely absurd.
Third awardendowed with 300 euros for Too deep inside (UK) directed by Chris Overton
Summary: To mourn the death of his young daughter, a grieving father resorts to extreme measures and uses artificial intelligence to relive her fondest memories. A story with a warning to society.

Best Music Video: Everything was better before Italian nationality. Director: Italy Lu Pulici
Summary: Lost in the polluted ocean, a submarine captain tries to save his friends and his fish. The band Tankus the Henge and Trukitrek Puppet Company came up with this beautiful animation with a moving message about the environment, especially the death of our oceans. Made entirely from recycled materials, the video is a wake-up call encouraging society to take sustainable action and create change before it is too late.
Best Animated Film sprayer (Iran). Directed by Farnoosh Abedi
Photo sprayer is a virtual painting tool for creating digital art in virtual reality (VR) using images of the surrounding real world as a color palette. It serves as the inspiration for this short film.
Summary: On the land occupied by the fumigators’ army, no one has the right to grow any kind of crop, either public or private. Until one day one of the soldiers finds a seed buried in the dust and his curiosity is just the beginning of something extraordinary, something big, something revolutionary.
