Haitian Senate urges Ariel Henry to “file” request for intervention by foreign forces

The Haitian Senate asked the Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, to file “immediately” the resolution that calls for military intervention by foreign forces in that country.

In a resolution of last Friday of that legislative entity, it is established that a third of the Haitian congressmen have made the formal request to the goverment’s head.

In this same measure, the Senate called on the political, social and economic forces to “find a political consensus to resolve the political crisis.”

It also asked the Ombudsman to work with Human Rights organizations to create a humanitarian corridor to remove fuel from the Varreux Terminal.

Pursuant to this same resolution, he urged the Haitian Prime Minister to grant a suspension of the implementation of the new fuel prices which has been the cause of the aggravation of the political and social situation in the country.
