Nice coach Franck Haise remains defiantly optimistic about his struggling team’s chances against FC Porto, despite a dismal run of four consecutive losses and recent fan unrest. The French side is currently in a difficult period, having accumulated consecutive defeats across both Ligue 1 and the Europa League.
The club’s recent performance includes a heavy 1-5 home loss to Marseille, a result that fueled significant protests from its supporters. In European competition, Nice has yet to secure any points after four group stage matches, placing them last in their group. Domestically, they sit ninth in Ligue 1.
Despite these challenges, Haise expressed his motivation for the upcoming match against FC Porto. He believes his team possesses the qualities to achieve a positive result when they travel to Estádio do Dragão next Thursday.
Haise emphasized his appreciation for participating in high-stakes games. “I am happy to have Ligue 1 and Europa League games to play. 10 years ago, I coached in the 6th Division, so I am happy to be experiencing these types of games,” he stated.
The coach added that he already has strategies in mind. “Despite all our shortcomings, I already have some ideas about what we can try to do to cause problems for FC Porto. We will try,” Haise said.
