Hackers Publish Stolen FIFA 21 Source Code Amid Lack of Buyers

A few weeks ago, hackers managed to get the source code for FIFA 21.

Considering the revenue the franchise generates for EA, you’d expect the company to pay a decent amount to protect its intellectual property – or so cybercriminals thought.

Unfortunately for them, EA refused to pay and the attackers also had no luck finding a buyer for the FIFA 21 source code on the Internet.

At end, they ended up dumping all the source code on torrent sites. Now anyone can download the full code from the Internet and set up FIFA’s private servers to play with their friends, although this is not recommended.

Chances are high that hackers have left a parting gift in the code and it’s not worth the risk.

The source code can also be used as data to train machine learning models to improve bots.
