Gulf Country’s Important Announcement Regarding Food Delivery Riders

KUWAIT CITY: Preparations have begun to implement a new law on food delivery riders in the Gulf country of Kuwait.

According to the media report, the statement issued by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait said that the owners of the home delivery companies should adhere to the following conditions.

A food delivery driver must have a health certificate issued by the Food Authority.

A company sticker should be mandatory on the vehicle.

The driver’s residence (visa) must be of the same company he is working for.

The rider will be dressed in full uniform.

The ministry has asked the owners of the concerned companies to abide by the guidelines and regulations and whoever violates these conditions will have their license suspended and legal action will be taken against them.

It should be noted that Major General Jamal Al-Sigh, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait, met with several stakeholders of the Ministry of Commerce, Kuwait Municipality and Public Authority for Food and Nutrition with the aim of home food delivery from October 1, 2022. Consultations were to be held to develop a mechanism for service companies.
