Guinea: military say they arrested President Alpha Condé and seized power

Military rioted in Guinea, West Africa, and they assure that they arrested President Alpha Condé, dissolved Congress and suspended the country’s Constitution “Formerly known as French Guinea,” said one of the leaders of the revolt, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya. Nevertheless, the Defense Ministry assured that it had managed to repel their attack against the presidency.

“We decided, after arresting the president, who is currently with us (…) to suppress the Constitution in force, dissolve the institutions; and also the government, as well as the closure of land and air borders,” Doumbouya said in a message. published by the Africa Guinee media on Facebook that was not broadcast on television in that country.
