Point guard Guillem Vives will continue to be linked to Club Joventut Badalona after reaching an agreement to renew his contract, which ended at the end of this campaign, until the end of the 2025/26 season.
“Club Joventut Badalona and Guillem Vives have reached an agreement to extend the bond that united them until June 2026. Vives, who signed two seasons plus an optional one in July 2021, will continue to defend the green and black shirt until 2026,” announced the club.
Vives, born in Barcelona, joined the ‘Penya’ academy in the Mini team in the 2004/05 season and went through all categories; Children, Cadet, Junior and finally the link (CB Prat) before making his debut with the first team in the 2012/13 season. The following year he became the point guard and won the Endesa League Best Young Player award for the 2013/14 season.
In the summer of 2014 he signed for Valencia Basket, a team with which he has won an ACB League title, a Super Cup and a Eurocup, and where he played before returning to the ‘Penya’ in 2021.
“I am very happy to continue at the ‘Penya’ because of the trust that the club, the president and Jordi Martí have shown me. A contract of so many years makes me very happy because I play for my club and with my people, ”he acknowledged in statements provided by the green-and-black entity.
“Since I came back I felt at home and I lived again what it is to defend your club. Here you feel a plus that cannot be explained, but that generates an internal vibration in you and in the matches that is different. The best thing that could happen to me to finish my career is to win a title with Joventut”, he added.
