Precautionary measures have been announced for the New Year celebrations in Dubai.
According to Arab media reports, on the instructions of the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced precautionary measures for the New Year celebrations.
The chairman of the committee approved the guidelines for the New Year celebrations in Dubai, saying those who violate the precautionary measures will face fines.
The committee said that in order to maintain the progress that Dubai has made in dealing with the epidemic, it is necessary to strictly follow the precautionary guidelines.
Sheikh Mansoor bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the committee, said that a concerted effort to control the epidemic, with the joint efforts of the frontline authorities and the continued cooperation of the people, had enabled Dubai to curb the spread of the virus. He said strict security protocols were being implemented as part of the Dubai government’s efforts to protect citizens, residents and visitors.

He said that masks must be worn by those attending the ceremonies held inside and outside the house. Failure to wear the mask will result in a fine of 3,000 dirhams. The public can view New Year’s Eve fireworks displays from 29 locations across the city, giving everyone a chance to celebrate in a safe and socially remote environment.
Sheikh Mansour bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that Dubai has been constantly monitoring local and international developments to take the necessary decisive steps to protect the community and to implement the precautions stated by the local and international health authorities. ۔
