Guerrero Jr. leaves the field with a knee injury

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left Friday’s exhibition game against Tampa Bay with a sore right knee.

The Dominican headed to the clubhouse with an athletic trainer in the second inning. He was replaced defensively by Rainer Núñez at the start of the third.

Guerrero had a first-inning RBI in his only at-bat.

The slugger hit a .274 average with 32 home runs and 97 RBIs in 160 games last year.

Guerrero is part of the Dominican Republic squad for this month’s World Baseball Classic
