Guardiola Open to Manchester City Contract Renewal Until 2029

Pep Guardiola has a valid contract until June 2027

Well, folks, hold the presses! Just when we thought we had Pep Guardiola’s future all figured out, he’s gone and thrown a curveball. Remember back in July? The talk was he’d take a well-deserved break once his current deal with Manchester City wrapped up on June 30, 2027. But now, it seems the coaching maestro is having a change of heart. He’s actually thinking about sticking around even longer, maybe for another two years.

Guardiola shared his fresh perspective with the ‘Men in Blazers’ platform. He chuckled about how everyone keeps asking him when he’ll finally call it quits. “I’ve got two years left on my contract,” he said, “maybe I’ll sign for two more.” He knows a break is coming eventually, “I will rest, that’s for sure.” But for now? “I feel good,” he insists. You can tell this city has truly captured his heart. He’s been in Manchester since 2016, a decade by the time his current contract ends. “This city charms me,” he admitted. He made it clear that staying somewhere for so long only happens if you truly feel at home. “I can’t ask for more,” he added. “The world of football has been far too kind to me.”

Speaking of staying put, there’s a good reason why Bernardo Silva got the captain’s armband. It wasn’t just a random pick. Pep’s explanation makes perfect sense when you hear it. Last season was rough for the team at times, full of challenges. That’s when Bernardo really stepped up.

He pushed through even when he was completely exhausted, showing up for training every single day. There were moments when the team was short-handed, playing with 13 or 14 young academy players, and they were losing games every three days. Yet, Bernardo was always there. He was incredibly generous with his effort and always had a smile on his face. Plus, the guy can play anywhere! He’s been a left-back, a right-back, a winger, and even a defensive midfielder. Guardiola has zero doubt about it: Bernardo will be an excellent captain.
