Grand Theft Auto 6 (if it is confirmed as the official name) is the most anticipated game in recent years. Ten years after the launch of GTA V, the successor still does not have an official date, but it continues to give a lot to talk about.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, referred in an interview to the development of the future Grand Theft Auto. The executive says that Rockstar Games seeks perfection in game development. And that is the main reason for the postponement.
Rockstar’s quest for perfection is the main reason behind GTA 6’s delay
“Right now, Rockstar’s answer is just to achieve perfection; achieve nothing less than perfection and we’ll get there,” he said in an interview with The Aarthi and Sriram Show.
Zelnick added: “It’s a challenge the folks at Rockstar face every time there’s a new generation of Grand Theft Auto. It has to be something you’ve never seen before, for one thing, and it has to reflect the feeling we have about Grand Theft Auto. This is a great challenge for the team.”
Rockstar isn’t worried about how long GTA 6 might take
With no official release date, it’s obvious that the game’s release would have to come up. But Zelnick says Rockstar isn’t worried about that. The objective is to guarantee the maximum quality of the game, without thinking about time.
And it’s no surprise, given the legacy of the product. Let’s take the example of GTA V, which thanks to the online mode is still a relevant game after all this time. But that’s also a lot thanks to the detailed world Rockstar has created. And the same can be said for the latest Red Dead Redemption 2.
