Antoine Griezmann is staying put in Madrid. The 34-year-old forward has signed a new deal with Atlético Madrid, keeping him at the club until at least June 2027.
A New Chapter
The news was announced by the club on Monday, after the season wrapped up. It’s a big boost for the team, which missed out on major titles but secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Griezmann shared his excitement, saying: “Atléticos, I’m really happy to wear this amazing jersey for many years. I hope to bring you a lot of joy. A big hug, I love you.”
Stats and Achievements
This season, Griezmann scored 16 goals and made 9 assists in 53 games. He’s now the club’s all-time top scorer with 197 goals. He’s also played the eighth-most games for the club (442), making him the third-most capped foreign player, behind only Oblak and Correa.
The player had been linked to a move to the MLS, but for now, he’s committed to Atlético Madrid.
