Grendizer: Expo, BD, concert … the giant robot, star of the new school year

On July 3, 1978 on Antenne 2, viewers at the time remember having taken a fulguropoing in the face. Goldorak and his pilot Actarus then embark with them a whole generation of French people in Japanese culture.

For this new school year, September and October will be the scene of events never before seen in France to celebrate the famous giant with golden horns. Created in Japan in 1975, Goldorak, aka UFO Robot Grendizer in original version, actually had much more influence in Europe and especially in France than in his country of origin. But in more than 45 years of existence, the animated series has left in the hearts of the children of Giscardian France an unforgettable memory of an adventure much more adult and heroic than most of the cartoons and cartoons broadcast in its time.

Grendizer Goldorak Xperienz in Paris

From September 15 until October 30, the Maison de la culture du Japon in Paris (15th) will be offering a beautiful retrospective. Entitled Goldorak XperienZ, this exhibition will take you behind the scenes of the manga and the Go Nagai series, with sketches, celluloids, toys and merchandising from the time. Four universes will be recreated to offer an immersive experience between the famous ranch that hides the robot, the planet Euphor, the Black Moon camp and the research laboratory.

The retronight at the grand rex

Along with the Goldorak XperienZ exhibition, the Grand Rex in Paris will host an exceptional evening on October 28. A giant karaoke will be organized with the public, who will give voice alongside the singers Enriqué, Noam, Jean-Pierre Savelli, Michel Barouille and Bernard Minet, who will follow one another on stage to perform the songs taken from the series. Interactive games, as well as a cosplay contest are also expected.

Stamps bearing the image of the robot at La Poste

These are two little bits of history that La Poste will decline on October 11. The group will offer philatelists but also and especially fans of the series two souvenir stamps to celebrate the Go Nagai robot. It is through the kiss of a tweet from the director of communication Ségolène Godeluck at La Poste, and a short clip made for the occasion that we discover the superb illustrations that will accompany the two stamps of 1 , 50 euro each. Beautiful pieces for collectors and fans.

A French comic strip homage at Kana

Building on the excellent sales of the three volumes of Albator produced by Jérôme Alquié, Kana is doing it again this year by paying tribute to Goldorak. And this time, no less than four artists have settled behind the drawing board: Denis Bajram, Brice Cossu, Alexis Sentenac and Yoann Guillo, under the leadership of screenwriter Xavier Dorison. Authors that comic book lovers know well and who all claim the influence that Grendizer had on their childhood and their career. Inspired by the work of Go Nagai, this large-format 136-page comic (not counting the bonuses) is a huge tribute to the master’s work.

Comic Goldorak will be marketed from October 15 in the Kana Classics collection.
