Grealish keeps his promise

They were very close to ‘extra time’, but Marcus Rashford returned to take the baton from the English game, led a new counterattack and kindly gave in to his neighbor and rival from Manchester City, Jack Grealish, so that this one made it 6-1 at an empty goal and closed the rout of those from Southgate. A goal that was not left over, nor was the subsequent celebration left over.

With a smile from ear to ear and dancing like an octopus, Grealish dedicated his goal to Finlay, a young City fan who, like Grealish’s sister, suffers from cerebral palsy and who asked him to celebrate a goal with that curious dance. And the citizen winger wanted to keep his promise, so as soon as the ball entered Hosseini’s net, he started dancing.

It was the icing on the cake for a game to remember for the English, who, however, waited until well into the second half to see Grealish. The player made an appearance along with Dier, Foden and Rashfordand with 4-1 on the scoreboard, but the level of Gareth Southgate’s selection was maintained despite the rotations and that is why the result was extended to the final 6-2.
