A seven-year-old girl is torn between life and death at Lincoln Hospital, in the Bronx, New York, after she was stabbed several times by her grandmother.
The New York Police arrested Mariza Yauger65, for the act and will face charges of attempted murder, according to Telemundo 47.
According to reports from the same outlet, it all started when residents and neighbors near Clinton Avenue and East 169th Street, in the Morrisania neighborhood, they heard a scream around 8:00 on Tuesday morning and then they realized that the infant was almost dying in the arms of a NY Police officer, who came to the scene after being called by the minor’s uncle.
“Nobody wants to hear that a girl got hurt, especially in your neighborhood, where your children go to school. Where they take care of the children. That’s terrible. I feel very bad"Anna Martínez told reporters from Telemundo 47, who has a day care center near the place and saw the girl in the arms of the police officer.
According to police authorities, the woman was in charge of the two girls, ages 4 and 7.
The minor injury resides in New Jersey and was in The Bronx visiting her grandmother.
“It was not clear who left the girl at the house or where her parents were,” Telemundo 47 journalists said.
“From head to toe. From her face down, she had blood everywhere.”Martínez told reporters from Telemundo 47.
The minor’s grandmother was first transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital for a psychological evaluation.
