The first look for Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film, “Dhurandhar,” just dropped. It immediately got people talking. Fans loved the action scenes. But the pairing of Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun caused a stir online. Sara Arjun is 20 years younger than Ranveer Singh.
This age difference in casting has sparked a familiar debate on social media. Critics are again questioning older male actors starring with much younger female co-stars. It is not a new thing, though. Many older male actors have worked with younger actresses before. For instance, Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu were a popular duo in the 2007 film “Cheeni Kum.” Their pairing was well-liked by audiences.
In 2008, Govinda faced major criticism for his role in the film “Money Hai Toh Honey Hai.” He was 44 years old at the time. His romantic interest in the movie was 16-year-old Hansika Motwani. This casting choice was seen as improper by many. It led to strong backlash.

In “Money Hai Toh Honey Hai,” Govinda played Bobby Arora. He runs away from home to prove himself. Bobby meets Ashima Kapoor, played by Hansika Motwani. At that time, Hansika Motwani was known for her child roles. She was famous for playing Saveri in the TV series “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.”
The film did not do well at the box office, even with many stars in it. Worse, Govinda’s romantic role with Hansika Motwani angered the public. This greatly harmed his image. Govinda made a comeback with Salman Khan in the 2009 film “Partner.” However, after that, eight of his films failed at the box office.
