Government keeps fuel frozen

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, reported that for the week of March 4 to 10, the government will continue to subsidize fuel “as far as possible” to keep the price of fuel for daily use by citizens stable.

The subsidy, according to a press release, is close to RD$223.3 million, thus once again containing the increases in “Regular diesel for RD$22.66, Optimal Diesel for RD$24.11, Premium Gasoline for RD$5.07, and Regular Gasoline for RD$7.95”.

For this week the fuels will be sold at RD$293.60 for premium gasoline; RD$274.50 for regular gasoline.

Likewise, RD$221.60 for regular diesel; RD$241.10, the optimal diesel; RD$147.60 for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and RD$28.97 per m3 for natural gas

The weekly average exchange rate is RD$55.67 from the daily publications of the Central Bank.
