Government increases fuel prices; Premium gasoline will cost RD $ 265.80

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), reported that during this week, from October 9 to 15, the price of premium gasoline will increase RD $ 4.00, while gasoline will increase by RD $ 3.50, per gallon.

Likewise, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will be increased by five pesos, with optimal diesel, regular and natural gas maintaining its price from last week.

In that sense, premium gasoline will be sold at RD $ 265.80 per gallon; regular gasoline will be sold at RD $ 246.80; the optimal diesel at RD $ 212.20 per gallon; regular diesel will sell for RD $ 188.90 per gallon.

Also the kerosene will be sold RD $ 201.40 per gallon rises RD $ 15.70; fuel oil # 6 to RD $ 152.20 per gallon rises RD $ 15.50; fuel oil 1% S to RD $ 167.62 per gallon rises RD $ 14.00.

The Government justified the increase by assuring that there is an international oil price crisis.

“Even though the Dominican government has again arranged to assume a large part of the increases, which translates into 586 million pesos, it will have to undergo a process of gradual increases until the situation improves internationally. We are in the presence of an unfavorable scenario for non-oil-producing countries such as our country ”, explained the Vice Minister of Internal Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín.
