Government freezes fuel again

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM) once again kept the prices of all fuels that are marketed in the country unchanged.

The Vice Minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, said this Friday that throughout this year the Government, to keep the prices of fuels for domestic use unchanged, has allocated almost 35 billion pesos in extraordinary subsidies.

In this sense, for the week of December 3 to 9, 2022, premium gasoline will continue to be sold at RD$293.60 per gallon and the regular a RD$274.50.

Regular diesel maintains a price of RD$221.60 per gallon, the optimal RD$241.10 per gallon and kerosene RD$338.10 per gallon

Also, fuel Oil #6 will continue to be sold to RD$192.11 per gallon, the fuel oil 1% will be at RD$211.77 per gallon

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) continues to RD$147.60 per gallon and Natural Gas RD$28.97 per m3, maintains its price.

On the other hand, the avtur (jet fuel) experienced drops and its price stands at RD$251.91 per gallon

The weekly average exchange rate is RD$54.78 of the daily publications of the Central Bank.

With this measure to keep it frozen, the government is avoiding increases mainly in Regular Diesel for RD$37.63 and Optimum Diesel for RD$39.53.

Pérez explained that starting in the last month of 2022, the international context remains the same: the recovery of post-pandemic demand, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the adverse effects that it produces on the raw materials market.
