Today was the day that Google introduced its latest smartphone for the mid-range device market. At Google I/O, the American company made the new Pixel 6A official.
This will be the most affordable offering in Google’s smartphone portfolio. It will arrive in select markets at a price of €459However, it maintains the top processor launched with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Google Pixel 6A hits the market with the chip tensor
There’s no denying the Pixel 6A’s inspiration from its higher-end siblings. The design of Google’s new affordable model inherits the characteristics of the models launched at the end of 2021, specifically its bar on the back where its two cameras are housed.
The physical difference between the Pixel 6A and more expensive models has to do with the construction material chosen. Instead of glass, Google has again opted for a plastic back for its affordable new product.
Also in the cameras we see a throwback to what Google applied to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The new Pixel 6A arrives with a main camera of 12 megapixels with optical image stabilization and a wide-angle lens 12 megapixels. In the front we have a sensor 8 megapixels.
Despite these differences, the Google Pixel 6A comes with the same Tensor processor applied to the higher models. In other words, the new American mid-range has a high-end chip, offering the same performance as models that cost almost twice as much.
As for its screen, the Pixel 6A comes with a panel 6.1-inch OLED with resolution FullHD+. However, the screen refresh rate will be 60Hzplacing itself well behind its main competitors in this segment.
The battery of the Pixel 6A is 4400mAh with upload speeds of just 18W Regarding its autonomy, Google promises 24 hours of use with normal use or 72 hours in battery saving mode.
Also noteworthy for the presence of the fingerprint sensor on the screen, IP67 certification, dual speakers and the absence of the 3.5 mm jack. The power adapter will also be missing from the Pixel 6A’s shipping box.
Finally, it is important to clarify that the Pixel 6A will not be officially marketed in Portugal. Of course, the product will arrive in our neighboring Spain for €459, with only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and it will surely not be difficult for you to import it if you want to purchase this product.
