The Google Pixel Fold will be Mountain View’s first foldable smartphone. The device is expected to be on the market during the year 2023, and it may surprise consumers with a much lower price than expected.
This will be a foldable smartphone to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4. But according to leaker Yogesh Brar, it could cost up to $1,500 less than the Samsung competitor.
Google Pixel Fold could launch between €1,300 and €1,500
This source claims that the smartphone will cost between 1,300 and 1,500 USD. By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold4 launched in Portugal for €1,859. Although at the time of writing this article it is already possible to find it for a more affordable price.
According to this source, the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a will be formally unveiled during Google I/O in May. This is the event dedicated to Google software, but where the manufacturer chooses to also launch some hardware.
If the Pixel 7a will be available from Q3 in global markets, the same cannot be said for the Pixel Fold. This is because the Google foldable is only due to launch in select markets.
The source also claims that the Pixel 7a will hit the market between 450 and 500 euros. A price that should be slightly higher than the previous generation. But in both cases they are details that we will only know officially in May.
