The North American technology company revealed the current generation of high-end smartphones during the last quarter of 2021, made up of phones Google Pixel 6 Y Google Pixel 6 Pro. Both devices can be characterized by their cameras, as well as their processor customized by Google, the new Tensor chips.
Now, according to the latest leaks, the search giant is preparing a new generation of more affordable smartphones. In fact, the good reception of the Pixel 5A will continue with the next Google Pixel 6A to debut possibly in the second quarter of 2022.
The next Google Pixel 6A should launch in May 2022
In May 2022 we will be able to meet the aforementioned Android smartphone with captivating features for the retail price. This is the latest information shared by the filter Max Jambor through his profile on the social network Twitter.
The date, by the way, has also been suggested for the first smart watch of North American technology, as we revealed in 4gnews. That is, during the next Google I/O annual conference we may have new hardware from this company.
The suggested timetable is not without precedent. That is, in 2020 we would meet the Google Pixel 4A in August. In the previous year, 2019, we were introduced to the Google Pixel 3a smartphone during Google I/O in May.
Previous generations arrived in August or during Google I/O
More recently, we got to know the current Google Pixel 6A during the month of August 2021, so these would be the two most likely launch windows for the successor. That is, between the month of May, during the I/O 2022 event, or in August, in the middle of summer.
Thus, given the conviction of the aforementioned source, in the month of May we have a strong possibility of discovering Google’s next cost/benefit smartphone. Keep in mind, however, that no date has been confirmed by the company so far.
The possible technical specifications of the Google Pixel 6A
Also according to the leaks, we may get a Google Pixel 6A with a 12.2 MP main camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, possibly a triple camera. Note, however, that this Sony sensor made its debut in the 2018 Google Pixel smartphones.
Still, in addition to the main camera we must have a secondary camera with a Sony IMX363 sensor and an ultra wide angle lens. On the other hand, the possible third camera has not yet had the characteristics revealed in the leaks.
Finally, we also have a front camera, a Sony IMX355 sensor with 8 MP resolution and a wide-angle lens for selfies.
Regarding the design of the device, we only have the concept that illustrates this article and video based on digital images or yield of the mobile device. The overall look is inspired by the current generation of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones.
It should also be noted that the Google Pixel 6A uses the same processor as high-end smartphones. That is to say, also in this cheap phone we can find the Google Tensor GS101 SoC. For now, however, this information needs confirmation.
