Google Pixel 10 Users Report Android Auto Freezing Issues

The new Google Pixel 10 phones arrived with much fanfare. Many expected them to shake up the smartphone market. However, early buyers are getting an unpleasant surprise. Android Auto is not working right for some Pixel 10 users.

These new phones include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. They just started shipping to customers who pre-ordered. People were excited about the fresh features. But now, many are reporting issues with Android Auto. It does not always connect or run smoothly.

On Google’s official Android Auto forums and on Reddit, many Pixel 10 owners share the same problems. Their car recognizes the phone, but Android Auto gets stuck. It often shows only the logo or a frozen screen. Sometimes, navigation buttons still work. Yet, the main screen stays frozen. This makes the system unusable.

It is not the first time Pixel phones have faced launch issues. Past generations also had their share of bugs. Some users found that transferring data from an old phone seemed to make things worse. This suggests a software conflict might be at play.

Google Hears the Call

A Google community expert responded on the Android Auto forum. They confirmed that Google knows about the user feedback. It is still unclear if Google will release a specific fix for the Pixel 10 quickly. For now, people are trying different solutions.

Some suggest testing Android Auto on a “clean” Pixel 10. This means setting up the phone as new. Do not restore it from an older phone backup. This might help avoid software clashes. Others advise checking compatibility settings in Android Auto. Standard troubleshooting steps are also worth trying. These include checking the USB cable, updating software, and resetting the phone.

These bugs remind us that Android Auto can be tricky. It is great for navigation, music, and hands-free calls. But it can be unpredictable, especially with brand-new smartphones. We will soon find out if this issue is only with the Pixel 10. Or if it is a larger bug affecting Android Auto itself.
