After much waiting, it seems that Google Pay on Wear OS is finally available in Portugal. This Wednesday, Google officially announced the arrival of the contactless payment service to 10 new countries and regions, and Portugal is among those chosen.
“Easy wristless checkout has always been a part of Wear OS. As of today, we have expanded support for Google Pay to 10 new countries / regions, including Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Romania and Singapore, ”Google said in a statement.
Using Google Pay on your Wear OS device is pretty simple. Just check if the Google Pay app is installed and you can easily find it through the Google Play Store.
Google Pay only works from Wear OS 2
Another important detail to keep in mind is that if you have a smartwatch with a very old Wear OS, Google Pay will not work. For this to happen, you must have at least Wear OS 2 or newer version.
Having Google Pay on your smartwatch is a matter of convenience. In this way, making payments becomes easier, since you no longer have to take the equipment out of your pocket to do so.
For Google Pay to be successful, you will have to do the same as Apple Pay. It is necessary that as many banks as possible make their cards available in the application and that users have an idea of how convenient it is to use this service.
