Google Lens can now help you diagnose skin problems

While not intended to replace medical assessments, Google Lens’ visual search feature has moved from identifying plants and animals to acting as a preliminary skin review tool.

Just take a photo on the Google app or choose a previous photo from your library and it will return the image-based links that best match your image. Sure, it’s not foolproof, but it does mean you can now search for something you might not have the right words for to narrow your search results.

And, let’s face it, no one wants to search through pages and pages of skin problem photos for their specific problem.

Describing a strange mole or rash can be difficult with words alone.

Fortunately, Lens can help you out with a new feature that lets you search for skin conditions that are visually similar to what you see on your skin.

This feature also works if you’re not sure how to describe something else on your body, like a lip bump, nail line, or hair loss on your head.

While certainly not intended to be used in place of professional diagnostics, can provide information quickly, particularly if it is difficult to see a doctor.

the company too it was announced that Google Lens will be integrated into the Bard generative artificial intelligence chatbot, enabling real-time feedback on image suggestions.

Google Lens already helps with visual cues, such as translating road signs, directions and menus in other languages. Some of the novelties are the upload of an image of a type of food with the indication “near me”, which will return a list (with photos) of places where that product or dish can be found.

The Google Lens app is available on Android while iOS users can access it through the Google app.
